SLIMFLO Installation Guide
Installation information for your SLIMFLO macerator pump, including WC connection, waste pipe connections, discharge pipework, shower installation and important fitting guidance.
Installing Your SLIMFLO
Correct installation is essential for reliable operation. Read through the complete guide before beginning installation and plan the WC position, gravity waste connections and pumped discharge route before securing the unit.
Always isolate the electrical supply before installation, adjustment or maintenance. The unit should remain accessible after installation so that connections can be inspected and the macerator can be serviced if required. If you are unsure about the electrical or plumbing installation, use a suitably competent installer.
Installation Overview
Plan the complete installation before connecting the pump. Correct pipe routing will help the macerator operate effectively and make future servicing easier.
Position the Unit
Position the SLIMFLO directly behind the WC. Make sure there is enough room to connect the WC outlet and access the unit after installation.
Connect the WC
Insert the toilet outlet fully into the main WC connection and secure the connection correctly. The reference installation shows the macerator positioned no more than approximately 20 cm from the WC.
Connect Waste Inlets
Connect the required sanitary appliance waste pipes to the appropriate inlet connections. Gravity waste pipework should fall towards the macerator rather than rise before reaching it.
Seal Unused Inlets
Any connection that is not being used should be securely blanked using the appropriate cap or fitting before the unit is operated.
Connect the Discharge
Connect the pumped discharge and plan the route carefully. Where the discharge must rise, take the vertical section close to the macerator before continuing with the horizontal run.
Secure & Check
Secure the unit using the fixing arrangement, check that pipe connections and clamps are secure, and inspect the installation for leaks during commissioning.
Connecting Sanitary Appliances
Toilet / WC
The toilet connects directly to the large WC inlet. Keep the macerator close to the toilet and make sure the connection is fully seated and securely clamped.
Shower
The shower waste is a gravity connection. The waste pipe must fall continuously towards the SLIMFLO. Pay particular attention to the available height between the shower waste and macerator inlet.
Basin / Other Waste
Route gravity waste pipework towards the macerator without unnecessary rises or loops. Keep the route as direct as practical and securely clamp the appropriate inlet connection.
Pipework Information
The supplied installation reference identifies the following connection sizes.
Used for the sanitary appliance gravity waste connections shown in the installation reference.
The reference installation identifies a 32 mm pumped discharge connection.
Correct Discharge Routing
The discharge layout is an important part of the installation. Poor routing can increase resistance and affect pump performance.
Shower Waste Installation
Because the shower drains by gravity into the macerator, sufficient height and fall are particularly important.
The supplied installation reference illustrates a 15 cm minimum height for the shower waste connection arrangement.
The installation drawing illustrates the shower waste pipe falling towards the macerator rather than running level or uphill.
Installation Do's & Don'ts
What Shouldn't Go Through a Macerator?
A macerator is designed to deal with normal toilet waste and toilet paper. Foreign objects can cause blockages or damage.
Installation Reference Data
The figures below are taken from the installation reference used to prepare this guide. Confirm that they match the specification of your particular SLIMFLO model before relying on them.
