About the Saniflo Sanitop UP 6002

The Sanitop UP is a domestic macerator designed for a horizontally connected WC and wash basin. It provides two inlets and allows wastewater to be pumped where conventional gravity drainage is difficult.

INSTALLATION GUIDE

Installing the Saniflo Sanitop UP

Plan the WC inlet, wash basin connection, discharge route, electrical supply and future maintenance access before permanently securing the installation.

Position the Sanitop

Install the unit in the same room as the WC and connected wash basin.

Keep the Unit Accessible

Leave sufficient access for future inspection, maintenance and servicing.

Install on a Level Floor

Position the tank on a perfectly level floor so the anti-vibration pads can work effectively.

Keep Clear of the Wall

Position the tank so it does not touch the wall, helping reduce transmitted vibration.

Connect the WC

Securely connect the horizontal WC outlet to the large rear inlet.

Connect the Wash Basin

Connect the wash basin waste to the 40 mm sanitary appliance inlet.

Connect the Discharge

Use the appropriate 22, 28 or 32 mm external discharge configuration.

Commission & Test

Once the plumbing and electrical work is complete, flush the WC and inspect all connections for leaks.

WC INSTALLATION

Positioning the Sanitop Behind the Toilet

The installation diagram specifies a maximum distance of 20 cm between the toilet outlet and the Sanitop.

Maximum WC Connection Distance: 20 cm

Keep the macerator close to the horizontal WC outlet. Do not extend the toilet connection beyond the maximum distance shown in the supplied installation instructions.

The available horizontal pumping distance reduces as vertical lift increases. Use the manufacturer's relationship below when planning the discharge route.

UK Electrical Installation

Electrical installation must be completed in accordance with the supplied Saniflo instructions and applicable electrical requirements.

Electrical installation must be carried out by a qualified electrical engineer.

The supplied GB instructions specify a 220–240 V single-phase AC 50 Hz supply. The unit should not be connected to a conventional plug and socket. The manual specifies a fused, unswitched fixed wiring connector fitted with a 5 amp fuse. Disconnect the electrical supply before carrying out work on the unit.

Looking After Your Sanitop UP

Descaling

The operating manual recommends using a suitable household descaler, such as Saniflo Descaler, to remove scale and clean the macerator and WC bowl.

The unit must remain easily accessible for checks, maintenance and servicing.

Prolonged Absence

During prolonged absence, turn off the general water supply and protect the installation against frost.

Foreign Objects

Foreign objects can obstruct the macerator and may cause rattling, humming or prevent the motor from running.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Common Sanitop UP Problems

The motor does not activate
Check that electrical power is available. The manual also identifies a defective electrical supply, motor or control system as possible causes.
The motor rattles, crunches or hums but does not run
A foreign object may be inside the unit. A motor or control system problem is another possible cause. Disconnect the macerator from the electrical supply before intervention.
The Sanitop activates intermittently
Check connected sanitary appliances for leaks. The manual also identifies a faulty non-return valve as a possible cause.
The motor continues running for too long
Check whether the discharge installation exceeds the permitted length or height or contains too many bends or elbows. An occluded pump cover plate is another possible cause.
The Sanitop suddenly stops
The thermal cut-out may have activated after the unit has been running for too long. Allow the unit to reset and seek appropriate servicing if the problem continues.
