SLIMFLO Installation Guide

Installation information for your SLIMFLO macerator pump, including WC connection, waste pipe connections, discharge pipework, shower installation and important fitting guidance.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Installing Your SLIMFLO

Correct installation is essential for reliable operation. Read through the complete guide before beginning installation and plan the WC position, gravity waste connections and pumped discharge route before securing the unit.

⚠️
Important Before Installation

Always isolate the electrical supply before installation, adjustment or maintenance. The unit should remain accessible after installation so that connections can be inspected and the macerator can be serviced if required. If you are unsure about the electrical or plumbing installation, use a suitably competent installer.

INSTALLATION

Installation Overview

Plan the complete installation before connecting the pump. Correct pipe routing will help the macerator operate effectively and make future servicing easier.

1

Position the Unit

Position the SLIMFLO directly behind the WC. Make sure there is enough room to connect the WC outlet and access the unit after installation.

2

Connect the WC

Insert the toilet outlet fully into the main WC connection and secure the connection correctly. The reference installation shows the macerator positioned no more than approximately 20 cm from the WC.

3

Connect Waste Inlets

Connect the required sanitary appliance waste pipes to the appropriate inlet connections. Gravity waste pipework should fall towards the macerator rather than rise before reaching it.

4

Seal Unused Inlets

Any connection that is not being used should be securely blanked using the appropriate cap or fitting before the unit is operated.

5

Connect the Discharge

Connect the pumped discharge and plan the route carefully. Where the discharge must rise, take the vertical section close to the macerator before continuing with the horizontal run.

6

Secure & Check

Secure the unit using the fixing arrangement, check that pipe connections and clamps are secure, and inspect the installation for leaks during commissioning.

CONNECTION GUIDE

Connecting Sanitary Appliances

🚽

Toilet / WC

The toilet connects directly to the large WC inlet. Keep the macerator close to the toilet and make sure the connection is fully seated and securely clamped.

🚿

Shower

The shower waste is a gravity connection. The waste pipe must fall continuously towards the SLIMFLO. Pay particular attention to the available height between the shower waste and macerator inlet.

🚰

Basin / Other Waste

Route gravity waste pipework towards the macerator without unnecessary rises or loops. Keep the route as direct as practical and securely clamp the appropriate inlet connection.

PIPE CONNECTIONS

Pipework Information

The supplied installation reference identifies the following connection sizes.

Ø40 40 mm Waste Inlets

Used for the sanitary appliance gravity waste connections shown in the installation reference.

Ø32 32 mm Discharge

The reference installation identifies a 32 mm pumped discharge connection.

DISCHARGE PIPE

Correct Discharge Routing

The discharge layout is an important part of the installation. Poor routing can increase resistance and affect pump performance.

βœ“ Take the vertical discharge section close to the macerator before beginning the horizontal run.
βœ“ Keep the discharge route as direct as reasonably practical.
βœ“ Use smooth sweeping bends rather than unnecessary tight bends.
βœ“ Make sure all discharge connections are properly secured before commissioning.
SHOWER CONNECTION

Shower Waste Installation

Because the shower drains by gravity into the macerator, sufficient height and fall are particularly important.

15 cm Minimum Height Shown

The supplied installation reference illustrates a 15 cm minimum height for the shower waste connection arrangement.

3% Fall Towards Unit

The installation drawing illustrates the shower waste pipe falling towards the macerator rather than running level or uphill.

IMPORTANT

Installation Do's & Don'ts

βœ“ DO
βœ“ Keep the macerator accessible for future inspection and maintenance.
βœ“ Make sure gravity waste pipes fall towards the macerator.
βœ“ Secure all pipe connections and clamps.
βœ“ Use smooth bends in the discharge pipework.
βœ“ Seal any unused inlet connections.
βœ“ Check the complete installation for leaks when commissioning.
Γ— DON'T
Γ— Do not create an uphill section in gravity waste pipework before the macerator.
Γ— Do not use unnecessary tight bends in the discharge pipe.
Γ— Do not obstruct the ventilation / air inlet arrangement.
Γ— Do not permanently box the unit in so that it cannot be serviced.
Γ— Do not operate the installation if a pipe connection is loose or leaking.
Γ— Do not place unsuitable solid items into the toilet or connected waste system.
PROTECT YOUR PUMP

What Shouldn't Go Through a Macerator?

A macerator is designed to deal with normal toilet waste and toilet paper. Foreign objects can cause blockages or damage.

Γ— Wet wipes and cleaning wipes
Γ— Sanitary products
Γ— Nappies or similar products
Γ— Cotton buds and other solid objects
