About the Saniflo Saniplus UP 6003
The Saniplus UP is a domestic macerator designed to evacuate wastewater from a horizontally connected WC and compatible sanitary appliances. Its large-capacity tank and multiple connections make it suitable for creating an additional bathroom where conventional gravity drainage is difficult.
Large-Capacity Tank
The Saniplus UP is designed with a large-capacity tank for installations handling larger volumes of wastewater.
Top Maintenance Access
Maintenance access is provided from the top of the unit, helping make inspection and servicing more convenient.
Direct Basket Access
The product documentation identifies direct basket access without needing to dismantle or empty the tank.
Replacement Friendly
Identical pipe centres are designed to help when replacing an older compatible Saniplus model.
What Can the Saniplus UP Be Connected To?
The manufacturer's operating documentation describes the Saniplus UP as a compact pumping station for evacuating wastewater from a horizontally connected WC and compatible sanitary appliances.
Before Installing the Saniplus UP
Plan the complete installation before securing the unit. Consider the WC position, connected sanitary appliances, gravity waste pipes, pumped discharge route, electrical connection and future maintenance access.
The manufacturer's instructions state that the unit should be installed in the same room as the WC and connected sanitary facilities and should remain accessible for checks and maintenance.
Saniplus UP Installation
The following provides an easy-to-follow overview of the main installation considerations contained within the supplied Saniplus documentation.
Position the Saniplus
Install the unit in the same room as the WC and sanitary appliances connected to it.
Use a Level Floor
Position the unit on a perfectly level floor so its anti-vibration pads can work effectively.
Keep the Tank Clear
The manufacturer's acoustic guidance advises that the tank should not be touching the wall.
Connect the WC
Connect the horizontal WC outlet securely to the large 100 mm macerator inlet.
Connect Waste Inlets
Connect compatible sanitary appliance waste pipes to the available 40 mm inlet connections.
Connect the Discharge
The Saniplus UP provides external discharge connection options of 22, 28 or 32 mm.
Secure the Pipework
Secure the outlet pipework correctly. The operating instructions advise a maximum spacing of one metre between outlet pipe attachments.
Test the Installation
Once plumbing and electrical work is complete, commission the installation and inspect the connections carefully for leaks.
Saniplus UP Pipe Sizes
The Saniplus uses a large WC connection together with smaller sanitary appliance inlets and a reduced pumped discharge pipe.
Positioning the Saniplus Behind the WC
The manufacturer's installation drawing indicates a maximum distance of 20 cm between the WC and Saniplus arrangement. Keeping the unit close to the toilet also helps provide a straightforward connection to the horizontal WC outlet.
Connecting a Shower
A connected shower relies on gravity to deliver wastewater into the Saniplus. The relative height of the shower tray and macerator is therefore an important part of the installation.
Minimum Shower Tray Height: 130 mm
The Saniplus UP product specification gives a minimum shower tray height of 130 mm. The installation drawing similarly identifies a minimum 13 cm arrangement. The incoming waste pipe should be installed so wastewater can drain naturally towards the macerator.
Saniplus UP Pumping Distances
Vertical lift and horizontal pumping distance are related. Increasing the vertical lift reduces the maximum horizontal distance shown by the manufacturer's installation diagram.
The installation diagram shows a relationship between vertical lift and horizontal distance. For example, the maximum horizontal distance shown at a 5 metre vertical lift is 60 metres.
Saniflo Saniplus UP 6003 Specifications
Electrical Installation
Electrical work must be completed in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions and applicable electrical requirements.
The supplied UK operating manual specifies a 220–240 V, single-phase AC supply and states that the unit should be fully earthed. It also specifies connection through a fused, unswitched fixed wiring connector fitted with a 5 amp fuse rather than a conventional plug and socket. Electrical power must be disconnected before carrying out work on the unit.
Commissioning & Final Checks
Once installation is complete, the system should be tested before normal use.
Looking After Your Saniplus UP
Correct use and periodic maintenance can help keep the macerator operating correctly and reduce the possibility of deposits or blockages.
Descaling
The manufacturer's operating manual recommends using a suitable household descaler, such as Saniflo Descaler, when descaling the macerator.
Keep Access Clear
Do not permanently box the unit into an inaccessible location. Access should remain available for inspection, servicing and maintenance.
Prolonged Absence
For prolonged periods of absence, the manufacturer's manual advises cutting off the water supply and protecting the installation against frost.
Correct Use
Avoid allowing foreign objects or inappropriate waste to enter the macerator. Foreign objects can interfere with the cutting and pumping mechanism.

The supplied Saniplus documents contain a discrepancy regarding the IP rating: the product sheet lists IP44, while another supplied installation document lists IP68.
